CERBERUS MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 and MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 Compound Formal Semantic Kernel Specification v1.1 Recursive Local Temporal Coordinates, Structural Addressing, Reader Topology, D/E/F Interfaces, and Compound Event Composition Figure 1. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 answers four placement questions. CORE PRINCIPLE | Store local. Resolve outward. A musical object remembers its type, its start relative to its immediate parent, its bounded structural route, and its local tie order. Higher timing layers are derived without flattening the canonical placement state. Candidate Formal Semantic Kernel Specification 18 August 2026 Document Control Control Value Specification CERBERUS MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 Companion composition CERBERUS MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 Compound BitWord Version v1.1 Status Candidate Formal Semantic Kernel Specification Word size 128 bits / 16 bytes Compound packed size 256 bits / 32 bytes Source basis MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 / MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 Formal Specification v1.0 Binary compatibility P000-P127 allocation retained; MUSIC-128 B000-B127 retained in canonical packed form Reader topology A1-O1 introduced for formal SK navigation Primary boundary Canonical placement is local to the immediate parent; composition, performance, and absolute time are derived layers. v1.1 Upgrade Summary This revision preserves the v1.0 placement allocation while upgrading the document into the current CERBERUS Semantic Kernel specification grammar. The principal changes are architectural clarification and interface formalization rather than binary redesign. Introduces formal Reader addresses A1-O1 for every active placement role. Formalizes Relative Start and Structural Address as high-value E interfaces while retaining D fallbacks for every Reader placement. Defines complete F variants for MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 and Reversible Semantic Zoom into E, D, and raw Bits. Formalizes MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 as the selected Compound BitWord composition of MUSIC-128 and MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128; canonical packed serialization remains 256 contiguous bits. Retires the v1.0 Section display glyph that conflicted with CERBERUS Rule notation; the Section Type bit and semantics do not change. Clarifies Pattern / Composite as a musical placement concept distinct from CERBERUS Compound BitWord membership unless separately declared. Clarifies Branch as a bounded alternate musical structural route, not specification version, interface navigation, or implicit copy state. Strengthens the unresolved-context boundary: missing conversion context remains unresolved rather than guessed. Moves the full per-bit registry to the back so the semantic machine is learned before the individual bit weights. Abstract MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 is a fixed-width recursive coordinate language for bounded musical structure. It records what kind of musical object a row represents, when that object begins relative to its immediate parent, which composition-local structural route contains it, and how otherwise equivalent local placements are deterministically ordered. The Word does not own pitch, duration, dynamics, articulation, tuning, tempo, instrument identity, engraving, or absolute clock time. Those concerns remain with MUSIC-128 or external context. A resolver derives broader timing by traversing local ancestry without replacing canonical local placement state. The specification also defines the modern interface contract for the Word. D interfaces expose individual Reader-bound BitGroups; E interfaces coordinate Relative Start and Structural Address; F variants cover the complete 128-bit placement Word; and a G interface may represent the complete MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound made from MUSIC-128 plus MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128. The Compound form is a selected construction tactic for this architecture, not a restriction on other possible BitWord-creation strategies. Figure 2. The placement Word divides naturally into Identity, Local Temporal Coordinate, Structural Address, and Order/System regions. Part 1 | Placement Identity and Ownership 1. Purpose and Scope MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 describes one bounded placement object inside a larger musical structure. The object may be a Note, Bar, Track, Track Group, Section, Pattern, Tempo Region, or Composition. Its canonical placement state is intentionally local: Relative Start is measured from the immediate parent rather than from one universal composition timestamp. This makes nested editing, reuse, movement, filtering, and bounded rendering inexpensive and deterministic. The Word is not a finished song container and is not an audio scheduler. It is a coordinate contract. A Composition context, parent records, tempo and meter models, performance interpretation, instrument and tuning context, renderers, and optional real-world TIME anchors may be required to project the local placement into broader meanings. Figure 3. Reader topology A1-O1 gives every placement role a stable semantic address. 1.1 Reader Contract Reader Bits Role A1 P000-P007 Type Mask B1 P008-P011 Relative Start Basis C1 P012-P023 Relative Start Numerator D1 P024-P035 Relative Start Denominator E1 P036-P043 Address Presence Mask F1 P044-P049 Section Number G1 P050-P054 Track Group Number H1 P055-P061 Track Number I1 P062-P073 Bar Number J1 P074-P078 Voice Number K1 P079-P086 Pattern / Composite Number L1 P087-P092 Tempo Region Number M1 P093-P099 Branch Number N1 P100-P109 Local Order O1 P110-P117 Version Reserved P118-P127 MUST remain 0 in v1.1 Reader addresses are semantic navigation labels for the SK. They do not renumber the underlying P bits. When a packed MUSICAL_TEMPO representation is used, Pn maps to combined bit B(128+n). Figure 4. MUSIC-128, MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128, and external context have separate ownership responsibilities. 1.2 MUSIC, Placement, and External Context MUSIC-128 owns the bounded musical state that occurs: pitch-class membership, register, rational duration, dynamic intensity, articulation, microtonal offset, and its own version/reserved regions. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 owns where and when-locally that object belongs: Type, Relative Start, Structural Address, and Local Order. Tempo, meter, tuning, instrument mapping, performance timing, rendering policy, and absolute clock anchors remain external unless explicitly represented by their own semantic objects. OWNERSHIP LAW | MUSIC says what occurs. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT says what kind of placed object this is, where it belongs, and when it begins relative to its parent. Context resolves the rest. Figure 5. MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 is modeled here as a Compound BitWord composed of two existing 128-bit Words. 1.3 MUSICAL_TEMPO as a Compound BitWord MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 is modeled in this specification as a Compound BitWord whose constituents are MUSIC-128 and MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128. Both constituent Words retain their own BitGroups, Reader topologies, validation logic, D/E/F interface options, and independent utility. The Compound declares that the two complete Words are being used together as one bounded musical-event package. This selection is not a CERBERUS prohibition against authoring a new 256-bit monolithic BitWord. Such a Word would be a valid construction if an author wished to define and maintain it. The Compound form is preferred here because the two 128-bit Words already possess useful independent semantic machines, while the G interface class provides whole-event interaction coherence without requiring those machines to be redundantly re-authored. Figure 6. The Compound semantic structure can still serialize as the same contiguous 256-bit packed payload used by the v1.0 architecture. Canonical packed serialization may remain byte-for-byte compatible with the original 256-bit layout: MUSIC-128 occupies B000-B127 and MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 occupies B128-B255. Physical contiguity is a storage and transport property; it does not require the two constituent Words to lose their semantic identities. Figure 7. A1 Type is a one-hot selector for the structural kind of the row. 1.4 A1 Type Mask A1 occupies P000-P007 as eight independent one-hot Type bits: Note, Bar, Track, Track Group, Section, Pattern, Tempo Region, and Composition. A canonical v1.1 row uses exactly one Type. None or multiple active Type bits are invalid unless an explicitly versioned future extension assigns such a state. The v1.0 Section display glyph is retired in this revision because that glyph now belongs to CERBERUS Rule notation. Human interfaces SHOULD use SECTION, SEC, or another non-conflicting display token. The underlying Section Type bit P004 and its meaning are unchanged. Figure 8. Type identifies what the row is; Structural Address locates where that row belongs. TYPE IS NOT ADDRESS | A Bar row may carry Bar Number 3 in its route, but its Type and its address still answer different questions. Part 2 | Relative Start and Recursive Local Time 2. Relative Start Encoding Relative Start is stored as three independent Reader placements: B1 Basis, C1 Numerator, and D1 Denominator. Together they express a rational start coordinate measured from the origin of the immediate parent. Numerator may be zero. Denominator MUST be nonzero whenever the row participates in time. Rational values SHOULD be reduced to lowest terms where reduction does not alter declared Basis semantics. Figure 9. B1, C1, and D1 remain independent semantic placements even when decoded together as one start coordinate. Code Basis Meaning 0 INHERIT Use the immediate parent or active composition profile. 1 WHOLE_NOTE N/D of a whole note. 2 BAR_FRACTION N/D of the immediate Bar length. 3 BEAT N/D in declared beat units. 4 SECONDS N/D seconds. 5 MILLISECONDS N/D milliseconds. 6 TICKS N/D parent-declared musical ticks. 7 FRAMES N/D parent-declared frames or sample-aligned frames. 8-15 RESERVED Unsupported in v1.1 unless assigned by a later version. Figure 10. An E Relative Start interface coordinates Basis, Numerator, and Denominator as one human task. 2.1 E - Relative Start B1, C1, and D1 are strong candidates for one E interface because they jointly answer a single human question: when does this object begin relative to its immediate parent? The E does not merge their semantic identities. It provides coordinated interaction geometry over the three Reader-bound placements. Figure 11. Multiple E variants may expose the same Relative Start state through musical, engineering, spatial, or clock-oriented geometry. A clock-oriented display is only valid when the declared Basis and surrounding context resolve to that clock domain. Presentation may display a converted value, but the canonical B1/C1/D1 state remains authoritative unless the user explicitly edits the source placement. Figure 12. The recursive coordinate tree stores a local value at each object and derives broader positions by traversal. 2.2 Local Temporal Coordinate Principle Every timed object stores its own start relative to the nearest active structural parent determined by Type and route. If Track Group 1 begins 12 seconds from the Composition, Track 14 begins 30 seconds from the Track Group, and Bar 3 begins 8 seconds from the Track, the stored child values remain 30 and 8. The composition-relative values 42 and 50 are derived projections. Figure 13. Stored local state and derived composition state are separate layers of the same structure. RESOLUTION DOES NOT REWRITE | A derived composition start is never silently written back as a replacement for the local Relative Start. Figure 14. Local, Composition, Performance, and Absolute time are distinct layers with different authority. 2.3 Timing Layers Local Time is stored in MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128. Composition Time is derived by traversing the active ancestry and transforming compatible local bases. Performance Time is derived after applying tempo, meter, swing, rubato, automation, or other performance context. Absolute Time is optional and may be produced by anchoring performance time to TIME-128 or another external real-world clock reference. Figure 15. If the active context cannot complete a requested conversion, the higher-layer result remains unresolved. A valid local musical coordinate does not become invalid merely because a performance-clock conversion cannot yet be computed. For example, 3/8 WHOLE_NOTE may be semantically well-formed while performance seconds remain unresolved because tempo context is absent. A conforming resolver SHALL NOT invent the missing conversion context. Part 3 | Structural Address and Parent Resolution 3. Address Presence and Quantity Fields E1 is an eight-bit Address Presence Mask gating Section, Track Group, Track, Bar, Voice, Pattern, Tempo Region, and Branch quantities. A Presence bit of 0 requires its corresponding quantity to canonicalize to zero. A Presence bit of 1 requires a valid nonzero quantity inside the field capacity. The fixed-width Word can therefore represent sparse or richly addressed structures without requiring every route dimension to participate. Figure 16. Presence gates determine which structural quantity fields participate in the active address. Figure 17. Presence and quantity agreement is a canonical validation invariant. Dimension Reader Bits Usable values Section F1 6 1-63 Track Group G1 5 1-31 Track H1 7 1-127 Bar I1 12 1-4095 Voice J1 5 1-31 Pattern / Composite K1 8 1-255 Tempo Region L1 6 1-63 Branch M1 7 1-127 Local Order N1 10 1-1023; 0 unspecified The quantity fields are composition-local, not global Registry identifiers. Bar Number 3 means the third Bar address inside the active bounded composition route. Cross-composition identity belongs to the surrounding Composition NodeKey or other declared container identity. Figure 18. E Structural Address coordinates Presence and all address quantities as one route-editing task. 3.1 E - Structural Address E1 through M1 jointly describe the composition-local route containing the object. A compact E interface may hide inactive dimensions and present only the resolved route; an engineering E variant may show every Presence gate and quantity explicitly. Both variants manipulate the same Reader placements. Figure 19. Compact and engineering Structural Address variants preserve identical semantic coverage. Figure 20. The same local route may exist under different Composition identities without collision. ADDRESS IS COMPOSITION-LOCAL | TG1 > T14 > B3 is meaningful inside a known Composition context. It is not a global registry address by itself. Figure 21. Immediate-parent resolution follows Type-specific precedence toward the nearest active structural ancestor. 3.2 Immediate Parent The immediate parent is the nearest active structural ancestor that is valid for the row Type. For NOTE the precedence is BAR, TRACK, TRACK GROUP, SECTION, then COMPOSITION. For BAR it is TRACK, TRACK GROUP, SECTION, then COMPOSITION. For TRACK it is TRACK GROUP, SECTION, then COMPOSITION. TRACK GROUP resolves to SECTION or COMPOSITION; SECTION resolves to COMPOSITION. Pattern and Tempo Region resolve against the deepest active structural level declared by their address. Composition has no parent. Figure 22. Omitted structural levels do not break resolution; the nearest remaining valid ancestor becomes the parent. Voice, Tempo Region, Branch, and other optional address dimensions may participate in filtering and semantic context without automatically becoming temporal parents. Parent precedence is a declared placement rule, not an inference from whichever quantity happens to be numerically present. Figure 23. N1 Local Order provides deterministic tie order while leaving musical onset unchanged. 3.3 Local Order N1 occupies P100-P109 as a ten-bit unsigned scalar. Local Order distinguishes otherwise equivalent local placements for stable processing, display, or transformation order. It SHALL NOT be interpreted as a musical start time. Several events may share the same Relative Start while retaining different Local Order values. K1 Pattern / Composite is a musical structural-placement concept. It does not automatically mean CERBERUS Compound BitWord membership. M1 Branch identifies a bounded alternate musical structural route inside the current Composition context; it is not the SK version, specification version, interface navigation state, or an implicit copy produced by opening another view. L1 Tempo Region identifies placement into a tempo-context region; the tempo values and curves themselves remain owned by the appropriate tempo/context model. Part 4 | D/E/F Interface Architecture 4. Interface Coverage MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 supports the current CERBERUS interface-scope model. D interfaces expose one independently viable Bit or one Reader-bound BitGroup placement. E interfaces coordinate two or more Reader-bound BitGroup placements inside the same BitWord. F interfaces cover the complete placement Word. Reserved bits are not ordinary user-facing interaction targets; they are validation state until assigned by a later version. Figure 24. Every Reader role has a deterministic D fallback even when higher-order E or F interfaces are preferred. Figure 25. One complete D/E partition covers all exposed semantic placements in MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 exactly once. A practical complete partition uses D for Type, E for Relative Start, E for Structural Address, D for Local Order, and D or read-only status for Version. Alternative E memberships may exist in the registry, but the active resolved partition must not omit or ambiguously double-claim the same Reader placement. Figure 26. F Variant 1: a compact complete placement card. Figure 27. F Variant 2: a complete placement workbench for ordinary editing. Figure 28. F Variant 3: a complete engineering inspector for Reader and validation detail. 4.1 F Variants Every F variant covers the complete MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 Word. Variants may differ radically in density, modality, and interaction geometry while remaining state-equivalent. A compact Placement Card emphasizes route and start; a Workbench exposes ordinary editing; an Engineering Inspector exposes Reader addresses, bit ranges, decoded values, and validation. Figure 29. Any complete F variant is state-equivalent to a valid complete D/E partition of the same placement Word. INTERFACE EQUIVALENCE | F_v(MUSICAL_PLACEMENT) and a complete P_DE(MUSICAL_PLACEMENT) expose the same semantic state through different interface geometry. Figure 30. Reversible Semantic Zoom descends from F to E to D to raw Bits without creating a copy. Opening Structural Address from an F, then Bar from the E, then the raw I1 bits changes interface resolution only. The underlying placement record remains the same. Returning upward re-resolves the higher interfaces from the edited source state. Navigation is not branching. Part 5 | Editing, Reuse, Querying, and Rendering 5. Parent Movement and Reuse Figure 31. Moving a parent changes resolved descendant time while the descendant placement Words remain unchanged. Local coordinates make large structural edits inexpensive. If Track Group 1 moves from local start 12 seconds to 25 seconds, Track 14 may still store 30 seconds and Bar 3 may still store 8 seconds. Their resolved composition positions change because the ancestry changed, not because their own Words were rewritten. Figure 32. A Pattern or other reusable structure may retain internal child offsets under different parent placements. Figure 33. A human-facing musical navigator can progressively bind exact Composition-local address selections. 5.1 Conditional Filtering as Navigation A bounded Bar or Track view does not require a manually maintained list of Note IDs. An interface may progressively bind Composition context, Section, Track Group, Track, Bar, Voice, Pattern, Tempo Region, or Branch constraints, then filter canonical rows by explicit Type and address quantities. Matching Note rows are ordered by Relative Start and Local Order. Figure 34. The selected route compiles into explicit filter conditions rather than semantic-similarity inference. Figure 35. Self-addressing rows carry enough local route state to support deterministic bounded retrieval. Intentional repetition of bounded local route quantities on Note rows is a query optimization and semantic transport choice. Canonical parent context such as instrument, tuning, or tempo models need not be duplicated into every Note merely because the Note carries enough route state to be directly filtered. Figure 36. Placement and MUSIC fields map to different visible or performed properties of one rendered event. 5.2 Rendering Is a Projection After a bounded selection is returned, the renderer can place events without guessing semantic intent. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT Relative Start supplies horizontal onset inside the local container; MUSIC-128 Duration supplies width; MUSIC Pitch and Register supply vertical position; Dynamic and Articulation supply renderer-specific visual or playback behavior; Local Order supplies deterministic tie handling. Instrument mapping, enharmonic spelling, engraving, and performance realization remain external context. Figure 37. The same canonical selected rows may be projected into piano roll, staff, Calendar Grid, event list, or semantic inspector. PROJECTION IS NOT OWNERSHIP | Changing the renderer does not mutate MUSIC-128 or MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128. Part 6 | MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound and G 6. Whole-Event Coherence The MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound combines one complete MUSIC-128 Word with one complete MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 Word. At data level the two semantic machines remain separate. At interface level a G contract may cover the complete Compound and present it as one coherent musical event. Figure 38. A G interface can present the complete MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound as one event while preserving constituent ownership. Figure 39. Descending from G opens the constituent MUSIC and Placement Words, each of which resolves independently through F or P_DE. Let C be the MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound. A complete G variant is state-equivalent to the nested complete resolutions of the two constituent Words. The Word boundaries must remain explicit during descent; the interface graph does not flatten MUSIC controls and Placement controls into one unscoped peer list. G SOLVES INTERFACE COHERENCE | The Compound can feel like one musical object to the user without forcing MUSIC and Placement to be re-authored as one monolithic Reader. Part 7 | Operators, Validation, and Worked Construction 7. Candidate Placement Operators Figure 40. Candidate placement Operators identify exactly which placement state changes and which semantics remain invariant. Operator Primary effect MOVE PARENT Change a parent Relative Start; descendants retain local starts. QUANTIZE START Snap B1/C1/D1 to a declared local grid without changing MUSIC state. REASSIGN TRACK Change Track quantity and applicable Presence state; preserve note musical state. MOVE BAR Change Bar route and/or parent-local start under bounded rules. COPY PATTERN Instantiate/reference a Pattern under a new placement while retaining internal offsets. ASSIGN BRANCH Set Branch participation and quantity for an explicit alternate route. RENUMBER Apply a versioned bounded route transformation to affected local quantities. Figure 41. Invalid, unsupported, and unresolved states are reported explicitly instead of silently repaired. 7.1 Validation Area Canonical v1.1 rule Type Exactly one Type bit is active. Relative Start Denominator is nonzero for timed rows; local start is nonnegative. Basis Codes 8-15 are unsupported in v1.1. Presence gating Presence=0 => quantity=0; Presence=1 => valid nonzero quantity. Composition Composition uses local start 0 and no parent path. Note Compound A Note in MUSICAL_TEMPO requires a valid MUSIC-128 constituent. Local Order Does not substitute for Relative Start. Version O1 decodes to 1 in this v1.1 specification. Reserved P118-P127 remain zero until assigned. Resolution context Missing conversion context yields UNRESOLVED, not invented semantics. Figure 42. A canonical placement satisfies the structural invariants and remains inspectable from Reader values to Bits. Figure 43. Worked construction adds one local coordinate at each structural level from Track Group to Note. 7.2 Worked Example Consider a Composition in which Track Group 1 starts 12 seconds from the Composition origin, Track 14 starts 30 seconds from Track Group 1, Bar 3 starts 8 seconds from Track 14, and a Note begins at 1/2 WHOLE_NOTE inside Bar 3. The Track Group stores 12, the Track stores 30, the Bar stores 8, and the Note stores 1/2 in its declared musical basis. The resolver derives wider timing from ancestry and active context. The Note placement declares Type NOTE, active Track Group/Track/Bar address dimensions, quantities TG1/T14/B3, Local Order 1, Version 1, and zero reserved bits. Its MUSIC-128 constituent may independently encode a C4 quarter note with dynamic and articulation semantics. Figure 44. One placement Word can be traced from exact P-bit ranges through Reader semantics into decoded human meaning. Figure 45. Closing map: MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 stores local placement, resolves outward through context, and composes with MUSIC through the MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound. END STATE | STORE LOCAL. RESOLVE OUTWARD. MOVE PARENTS WITHOUT REWRITING CHILDREN. QUERY THE ADDRESS. RENDER THE SAME MUSIC. Appendix B | Normative Laws, Conformance, and Prototype Roadmap B.1 Core Laws Law Requirement Law 1 - Local Time Canonical Relative Start is measured from the immediate parent and is not silently flattened. Law 2 - Recursive Resolution Broader timing is derived by bounded parent traversal and contextual conversion. Law 3 - Resolution Does Not Rewrite Derived timing does not replace canonical local placement state. Law 4 - Type Explicitness A canonical row declares exactly one structural Type. Law 5 - Type / Address Separation Type identifies the object; Structural Address locates the object. Law 6 - Presence Gating Inactive dimensions canonicalize their quantity fields to zero; active dimensions carry valid nonzero quantities. Law 7 - Composition-Local Address Structural quantities are interpreted inside the active Composition context rather than as global Registry IDs. Law 8 - Parent Precedence Immediate parent is selected by declared Type-specific precedence over active structural ancestors. Law 9 - Order Is Not Time Local Order provides deterministic tie order and SHALL NOT define musical onset. Law 10 - Context May Be Required A missing conversion context yields unresolved higher-layer timing rather than invented semantics. Law 11 - Projection Is Not Ownership Staff, piano roll, grid, playback, and inspector views do not own or replace canonical placement state. Law 12 - Parent Movement A parent move may alter resolved descendant time without rewriting descendant local starts. Law 13 - Query Projection Bounded views may be generated from explicit Type and Structural Address fields without semantic-similarity inference. Law 14 - Reserved Integrity Reserved bits remain zero until assigned by a later specification version. Law 15 - Compound Preservation The selected MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound preserves the independent semantic identities of MUSIC-128 and MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128. Law 16 - Construction Freedom The Compound selection in this specification does not prohibit authors from creating alternative valid BitWords or other CERBERUS constructions. Law 17 - Interface Scope D, E, F, and G interfaces preserve their declared semantic coverage and active partitions avoid omission or duplicate claims. Law 18 - Reversible Semantic Zoom Descending interface resolution does not create a copy or branch of the placement state. B.2 Minimum Conforming Decoder Read and validate A1 Type. Decode B1/C1/D1 Relative Start and reject an active timed row with denominator 0. Apply E1 Presence gating and decode all active F1-M1 structural quantities. Resolve the immediate parent according to Type-specific precedence. Calculate bounded composition-relative timing without mutating local placement state. Report unresolved higher-layer conversions when required tempo, meter, or other context is missing. Support deterministic query selection by Type and address quantities. Decode N1 Local Order as tie order rather than onset. Validate O1 Version and zero Reserved bits. When operating on the MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound, independently validate and decode the MUSIC-128 constituent. B.3 Prototype Roadmap Phase Implementation proof 0 - Bit surface Expose P000-P127 and verify exact binary inspection. 1 - Reader decoders Decode A1-O1 plus validation helpers. 2 - Structural records Create Composition, Section, Track Group, Track, Bar, Pattern, and Tempo Region placements. 3 - Relative Start E Implement coordinated Basis + N/D editing and derived display. 4 - Structural Address E Implement Presence-gated route editing and compact/engineering variants. 5 - F variants Build compact card, workbench, and engineering inspector over the complete Word. 6 - Conditional navigation Filter Track Group -> Track -> Bar -> Note using exact address fields. 7 - Parent resolver Traverse local ancestry and prove parent movement without descendant rewrites. 8 - Rendering Map selected MUSIC + Placement records to piano roll, staff, grid, and event list. 9 - MUSICAL_TEMPO Compound Bind MUSIC-128 + MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 and implement a complete G musical-event interface. 10 - Rebuild / portability Pack/unpack the 256-bit Compound representation and reconstruct interfaces from registered state. Glossary Term Definition Address Presence Mask E1 / P036-P043. Eight boolean gates controlling participation of Section, Track Group, Track, Bar, Voice, Pattern, Tempo Region, and Branch quantities. Composition Time Derived timing obtained from recursive traversal of local ancestry within a Composition. Compound BitWord A CERBERUS composition of complete BitWords that preserves constituent identities while permitting whole-Compound interfaces such as G. Immediate Parent The nearest active valid structural ancestor whose origin defines the local Relative Start. Local Order N1. Deterministic tie-order scalar; not musical onset. Local Temporal Coordinate A start coordinate measured from the immediate parent rather than from the Composition root. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 The 128-bit recursive placement Word defined by this specification. MUSICAL_TEMPO-256 The selected Compound of MUSIC-128 and MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128; canonical packed representation occupies 256 bits. Pattern / Composite A musical structural-placement concept represented by K1. It does not automatically declare CERBERUS Compound BitWord membership. Performance Time Derived timing after tempo, meter, swing, rubato, automation, or other performance context is applied. Relative Start B1/C1/D1. Rational local start relative to the immediate parent. Resolved Start A derived broader timing coordinate computed from local ancestry and context. Structural Address The E1-M1 composition-local route state that locates the object inside the active Composition context. Type Mask A1 / P000-P007. One-hot structural Type selection. Unresolved A valid state for a requested higher-layer projection when required contextual information is unavailable; the system does not guess. STORE LOCAL. RESOLVE OUTWARD. MUSICAL_PLACEMENT-128 is a compact recursive coordinate language for moving, querying, resolving, and rendering bounded musical structure without flattening local temporal meaning.
